day sixteen: a song that makes me cry
okay, so i have probably always been a big baby, but during this deployment and even the last i have just gotten even more emotional and a lot of things set me off so there are actually quite a few at this point. one of the many would probably have to be just a dream by carrie underwood. that one has always made me bawl because i think that really is any military wife's worst nightmare. the next one that always gets me is already there by lonestar. i'm pretty sure everybody has heard this song but it's pretty much about a family that's apart but the dad is reassuring all of them that no matter how far they are apart he'll always be there... i think you can obviously see why that one gets to me. the next one is letters from war by mark shultz. i love this song because it actually tells this story of this mom and son writing each other letters and during the war the son gets captured while saving a friend and despite that the mom keeps writing him letters, and at the very end the son comes home carrying all of the moms letters. that song is definitely an emotional roller coaster but i love it! the next one is american soilder by toby keith. i honestly don't think people realize what being in the military really means and this song definitely explains what it's like, and honestly it just makes me so proud of my husband for all that he does and all that he is willing to do to serve our country.. he's definitely my hero! the next song i really try not to listen to it very much because this one is really a tear jerker for me, it's if you're reading this by tim mcgraw. this song is a letter a husband wrote to his wife if something happened to him while at war.. and yeah.. it's just really really sad because i can only imagine what that would be like and just thinking about the wives that have to deal with this just breaks my heart. the last one for now is have you forgotten? by darryl worley. this one didn't used to get to me, but i have heard it twice in the past week on the radio and for some reason it just really got to me. i think the reason it did is because i think people really have truly forgotten and they bash the war and seriously have no respect for our troops who are out risking their lives... plus, the part where it talks about all those that were in the planes and in the towers that lost their lives and their families that were left behind.. that part really really gets to me. i dunno, i'm probably just an emotional wreck these days, but i really do think people need to be reminded of that. also, can i just say how awesome i think darryl worley is? last summer rey and i went to a support your troops concert that he was at and you could tell that he totally had respect for the men and women in uniform and i love how he is willing to speak up! okay, so i think that's going to be all for now, because as i foudn all those videos and watched them i have just been crying my eyes out and i don't think i can take anymore!!
peace in the middle east,
kristen
