yay!! my naldo is home and i couldn't be a happier girl!! he's actually taking a nap at the moment and since i'm too wired (probably from excitement) i couldn't sleep so i decided to blog about yesterday! so, yesterday definitely did not go as i thought it would! i guess i should start by explaining last years homecoming! last time it was some big thing where the families waited together and got to wave in the marines with flags as they drove in on buses and then they walked out in formation and once they got let off it was a big free for all to go and find your marine.. lots of hugging, kissing, crying... the whole works! so that was last years homecoming, plus from what i have seen from youtube videos they all seem to go like that! since they had to unload three ships different companies and units were getting off at different times. of course rey's was scheduled for last and we were told anywhere from 4:00-6:30 and to probably be there around 3:00! well, i woke up at like 6:00 that morning because i was just too excited to sleep! i mostly just spent the day doing last minute things and pretty much glancing at the clock every two seconds! at 8 in the morning rey called me and told me he was on pendleton and that he was one of the firsts because he was in charge of putting crap in the armory and turning stuff in. well, at like 11 he called me again and told me to come see him! well, number one in pretty much every single e-mail i got it told us we would see them walking around but we shouldn't go up to them at all, even to say hi or for a quick kiss. the other thing was that for later that night i had a photographer scheduled since last deployment we didn't get any welcome home pictures and this time i really wanted pictures of us seeing each other for the first time. i told him both of those things and he said that all the guys that were with him had wives coming, but then i brought up the picture thing again and he understood. well, at like 1:30 i got an e-mail from the head wife of rey's company and it said that guys were getting let off earlier, but that 81's were still probably going to be a little later and that she was still planning for 3. well, at 2 rey called and was saying how he really thought they were going to get off soon.. so he told me where to park and that he'd be there in 30 minutes. i was still a little hestitant since i had my photographer, but she then sent me a text saying it was raining too hard for her to have her camera out so she couldn't take pictures anyway. at this point i hoped in my car and headed for camp horno! as soon as i pulled up i saw my rey and i hurried and grabbed my umbrella and pretty much before i could even get out of the car rey was there! oh my gosh!! it was the bestest and i quickly wrapped my arms around him and gave him a big hug and kiss! let me tell you! that kid has gotten freaking skinny!! it's pretty ridiculous, but he looks awesome!! we pretty much stood and hugged for a few minutes before getting in the car and driving over by the barracks as we waited for word for him to get off! basically we sat in the car for about an hour and a half and just talked, caught up.. held hands! basically we were just adorable! ha!! finally around 4 he got a text saying he could just leave! this was seriously the weirdest thing ever! this so did not feel like he had just come home from a seven month deployment! as soon as we were back together it just felt like it had before and this seriously felt like i was just picking him up from another day at work! as for rey and chloe's reunion it was pretty adorable! as soon as she saw him she barked and then ran up to him and went nuts and she still wont stop giving him kisses! she just loves her daddy and i really think she remembered him! the only sucky thing about last night was that rey realized he forgot some of his gear at pendleton so we had to drive back on base and get it, but since we were together it really didn't even matter! yesterday was just awesome! like i said, not like i had imagined or planned on, but it was perfect nonetheless! today we have been running a few errands, but as soon as rey wakes up from his nap we are going to go pick out our first christmas tree!! yay!!! then for dinner we have made reservations at the melting pot and are planning a nice romantical evening! we figured since we missed our first anniversary and my birthday we figured this was a good enough occasion to splurge on some nummy food!! well, i think it's time for me to go and wake him up (yes, i'm a horrible wife, haha!) cuz i miss my naldo already!!
